Arrive with a clean face, and hold off on retinol or exfoliating acids for 48 hours before your appointment. Afterward, give your skin a little room to settle: skip heavy makeup for the rest of the day and keep your routine simple for about 24 hours. Some redness is normal and fades quickly.
